(Cocktails at 6:30 pm – Meeting at 7:00 pm)

The Camden Roosevelt – 2101 16th Street NW, Washington, DC

Please join the DC Chapter of Log Cabin Republicans for an evening to
discuss the issue of Immigration Reform with:

former Congressman Jim Kolbe (R-AZ) &

Immigration Equality Policy Director Julie A. Kruse

About our speakers:

Former Congressman Jim Kolbe served 11-terms in the U.S. House of Representatives representing the state of Arizona. He is currently a fellow at the German Marshall Fund think tank and a consultant at Kissinger McLarty Associates, where he focuses on issues of trade, aid and migration. In 2006, Rep. Kolbe co-sponsored the United American Families Act and recently testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee to amend the immigration bill to include a path to citizenship  or permanent residency for same-sex partners — including his own.

Immigration Equality is the first and only organization in the United States dedicated exclusively to achieving full equality for LGBT and HIV-positive immigrants.  Julie A. Kruse leads the national effort to pass the Uniting American Families Act and has over 15 years of experience working for LGBT, immigrant, and women’s rights and economic justice.

And also: this meeting is also our Annual Meeting in which BOARD ELECTIONS will be held. Due to our growing membership and expanding Chapter activities, the number of board seats has been increased from seven to nine. If you are interested in running for a position on the board or would like more information about what serving on the board entails,
please email Chris Allen at

Although the deadline for running on the ballot has passed (as of Sunday the 19th), members can still run as write-in candidates!

(And remember, you must be a registered member in order to vote, so register and pay your dues before the meeting: )
