DC LOG CABIN THANKS MARYLAND STATE SENATOR KITTLEMAN
FOR STANDING UP FOR EQUALITY
|WASHINGTON, DC -The DC Chapter of Log Cabin Republicans would like to thank State Senator Allan Kittleman (R-Howard) for his support to bring marriage equality to the State of Maryland with his endorsement of SB 116, Religious Freedom and Civil Marriage Protection Act.
“One is sometimes indeed the loneliest number. But standing up for justice and equality rarely starts with the masses” said President Robert Turner. With his endorsement, Kittleman becomes the first Republican Senator to support this bill. “On behalf of our chapter members who live in Maryland, we want to publically thank and show our support for Senator Kittleman. ” Turner concluded.
The Religious Freedom and Civil Marriage Protection Act is scheduled for a hearing Tuesday, February 8th, before the Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee. In a statement released yesterday, Kittleman said, “As a strong proponent of personal and economic liberty/freedom I simply could not, in good conscience, vote against SB 116.”
